Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains information handling on Steal an Egg Wiki, an independent fan website. It covers this website; external services have their own policies. For questions, use the contact route below.

Current services: Cloudflare hosts this site and Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled. Google Analytics, Google AdSense advertising, and embedded GitHub comments (giscus) are currently disabled. We provide no site account, checkout, newsletter signup, or public upload form. Pages can include YouTube thumbnails and videos as explained below.

Hosting and Traffic Measurement

Your browser sends network requests to load our pages. Cloudflare processes request information, which can include your IP address, traffic-routing information, and system configuration, to deliver and protect its services. This is separate from the aggregate analytics described below. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views and page performance. Reports can be grouped by page, referring site, browser, operating system, device type, and country. We use these reports to understand traffic and improve pages. Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as not using cookies or localStorage to identify visitors and not fingerprinting individuals. Read its analytics privacy FAQ and reported dimensions.

Browser Storage, Search, and Calculators

The site uses browser localStorage to remember the theme you select. The article helpfulness buttons store only that you have answered for that page, so the prompt is not repeated; the current feature does not send your answer to a server. These preferences stay in that browser until cleared by you or your browser.

If the site's optional consent notice is displayed, it stores your accepted or declined choice in localStorage. Advertising and Google Analytics are currently off, so the notice is not needed for those services in this version. A stored choice from an earlier visit may remain until you clear site data.

Calculator inputs and results are processed in your browser; the calculators do not submit them to the wiki or connect to your Roblox account. Site search uses downloaded search-index files in your browser. Neither tool requires your real name, email, Roblox password, or payment details. Ordinary page and file requests still reach our hosting provider.

YouTube Thumbnails and Video Playback

A page with a video may request a thumbnail from i.ytimg.com before you press play. That request exposes network information such as your IP address and browser headers to Google's service. Pressing play loads an embedded player from youtube-nocookie.com, which contacts YouTube and processes playback information under Google's policies. Using the privacy-enhanced player does not mean that no data is transmitted.

You can read the surrounding article without playing a video. Your browser's content controls can block external images or media requests. Following a YouTube link opens that external service. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and read the Google Privacy Policy.

Contact, Corrections, and GitHub

Our contact page links to an external public GitHub issue tracker. If you submit an issue or pull request, your GitHub profile, message, attachments, and subsequent discussion may be publicly visible, indexed, or copied. The maintainers can read that information to investigate and respond; accepted corrections may become part of the website and repository history.

Do not include passwords, account tokens, payment information, home addresses, children's personal information, or other sensitive data in a public report. Use a minimal page URL and a description of the problem. If you need a private channel, request one without posting the private details; no private contact form is currently provided by this site. GitHub controls its account data and platform retention under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

Advertising Cookies and Future Advertising

We do not currently load Google AdSense ads. If advertising is enabled later, this policy and the on-site choices must be updated to identify the active services before they are introduced.

When Google advertising is used, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or device identifiers to deliver and measure ads. Google and its partners can use advertising cookies to personalize ads based on earlier visits to this website and other websites. Other participating ad vendors or networks may also use their own cookies; their identities and policy links must be disclosed when enabled.

You can manage or opt out of Google's personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and review participating vendors' choices at aboutads.info. These choices concern ad personalization; they do not necessarily stop all ads or all service requests. Browser cookie controls provide additional choices. See Google's advertising technology policy.

Before introducing advertising that requires consent, we must provide the applicable consent controls and a way to revisit or withdraw choices. Personalized Google ads for visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland require a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. The site's basic optional-services banner is not such a certified platform and is not a substitute for it. See Google's consent requirements.

Your Choices and Privacy Requests

  • Clear this website's cookies and site data in your browser to remove locally saved preferences. This also resets the theme, helpfulness marker, and any saved consent choice. Clearing this site's storage does not delete information held by external services.
  • Use your browser's cookie, tracking-protection, script, and media controls to limit optional requests. Reading static articles does not require accepting advertising; some interactive features need JavaScript.
  • Review the controls offered by Google, GitHub, and Cloudflare in the policies linked above for information they process.
  • For information the wiki maintainers control, use the contact page to ask about access, correction, or deletion. Describe the request without exposing personal details publicly. Available rights depend on your location and the information involved. We may need a way to verify a request before acting on it.

Children and Personal Information

This wiki covers a Roblox game and may be read by younger players. Reading and using the calculators require no age, real name, or account information. Children should not post personal information in external reports or follow account-verification requests from strangers; a parent or guardian can help with a report.

If you believe a child has shared personal information in content the maintainers control, use the contact page to flag the relevant location without repeating the information. Requests about a third-party account or service should also be directed to that provider.

Retention, External Services, and Policy Changes

Browser preferences remain locally until cleared. External services have their own retention and processing arrangements, described in their policies; this site does not set a universal deletion period for their records. Public issues, contributions, and repository history may persist even after a page is changed, and copies held by others may remain.

We will update this page when the site's services or handling of information change. The date above identifies the latest policy revision.
